Mumbai Live News: On a day when seven new cases were reported in Maharashtra omicron coronavirus In the version that took the state’s tally to 17 and India’s to 32, police in Mumbai ordered a two-day ban on large gatherings, news agency PTI reported.

An official told PTI that restrictions were imposed within the limits of Mumbai’s commissionerate, with a ban on rallies and protest marches of people and vehicles over the next two days. He said that the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) would be effective for 48 hours on Saturday and Sunday.

State health department officials said four of Omicron’s seven patients have been fully vaccinated. Of the remaining three patients, one has received a single dose of the vaccine, one has not been vaccinated and the third patient is three-and-a-half years old, so is not yet eligible for the vaccine. Four patients are asymptomatic while three have mild symptoms.

The state recorded 695 new coronavirus cases and 12 related deaths on Friday. The Mumbai division, which includes the city and satellite township, reported 327 cases and five deaths. 214 new cases were reported in Pune division, 68 in Nashik division, 16 in Kolhapur, four in Akola, 10 in Nagpur, 33 in Latur and 23 in Aurangabad division.
