More than 1 lakh new corona cases have been found in the country for the 8th consecutive day on Thursday and on the second day. 2.62 lakh new cases were found during 24 hours, while 1.08 lakh patients have been cured. The total active cases in the country has also increased to 12.65 lakh from 11.09 lakh on Wednesday. So far 3.65 crore people have been infected in the country.

On this day, Edmund Halley, the great scientist who introduced the world to Halley’s Comet, died in 1742. Edmund Haley was a renowned astronomer, mathematician, meteorologist and physicist. He was born on 29 October 1656 in Shoreditch, England, England. Haley was the equivalent of the great scientist Newton. He also contributed a lot to Newton’s research. On one hand he used to do research related to astronomy and on the other hand he also cooperated in Newton’s research work. Halley’s greatest fame came for the discovery of Halley’s Comet.
