Moradabad: Case of kidnapping, extortion registered against former MLA DP Yadav

Days after the Uttarakhand High Court acquitted former UP minister DP Yadav in a murder case, Moradabad police on Saturday registered an FIR against him and five others on charges of kidnapping, extortion and cheating. Former MLA Vijay Yadav is also named in the FIR.

The case has been registered on a complaint filed by Moradabad-based businessman Anil Tomar in which he alleged that Yadav and five others were involved in her abduction and extortion.

He said that no one has been arrested in this case so far.

According to the police, Tomar alleged that one of the accused, identified as Hari Om Sharma, who worked in his office till 2017, had withdrawn money from his firm’s bank account by using forged signatures and later transferred it to his bank account. found out about.

Police said, “Tomar claimed that after coming to know about the fraud, he decided to take action against Hari Om Sharma, but soon he started receiving threats that he would not take any action against Hari Om Sharma.” The bank officials were shaking hands with the accused.

Tomar told the police in his complaint that on October 17 this year when he was passing through Civil Lines in Moradabad, armed miscreants kidnapped him and former MLA Vijay Yadav made him talk to DP Yadav over phone.

“DP Yadav threatens to give Rs 10 crore to Anil Tomar before Diwali, otherwise his family will be killed. Tomar alleged that before releasing him, Vijay Yadav at gunpoint put his signatures on some blank papers,” the police said.

The Uttarakhand High Court on Wednesday acquitted DP Yadav in the 1992 murder case of his mentor and MLA Mahendra Singh Bhati. Six years ago, a CBI court had sentenced Yadav to life imprisonment in this case.
