Membership of 150 MPs terminated for not giving property details

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended the membership of 150 MLAs from across the country, including some cabinet members and veteran politicians, for not filing their assets statements.

The ECP on Monday released a list of MNAs, senators and MPAs of four provincial legislatures who failed to file details of assets and liabilities as well as their spouses and dependents for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021. These statements have to be filed by 31st December every year.

The membership of three MPs, including Dr Musadiq Malik, Dr Sikandar Mandharo and Prince Ahmed Omar Ahmedzai, has been suspended in the 100-member Senate.

The MNAs suspended as members of the lower house include cabinet members Farooq Habib, Noorul Haq Qadri, Hammad Azhar, Shafqat Mehmood and Dr Fahmida Mirza.

Prominent MNAs who failed to fulfill their constitutional obligation are former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain, Ghulam Bibi Bharwana, Rana Mohammad Qasim Noon and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

Other MNAs include Saleh Mohammad, Fakhar Zaman Khan, Sadaqat Ali Khan, Chaudhry Farooq Altaf, Faizulla, Raja Riaz Ahmed, Ibrahim Khan, Alam Dad Laleka, Makhdoom Samiul Hasan Gilani, Mubeen Ahmed, Javed Iqbal, Shabbir Ali, Sheraj Mehmood, Sardar M. Khan Leghari, Abid Hussain Bhayo, Sardar M. Baks Khan Mahar, Aslam Khan, Khalid Hussain Magasi, Jawaria Zafar, Fauzia Behram, Jile Huma, Shaheen Naaz Saifullah, Munwara Bibi Baloch, Shunila Ruth, Jai Prakash and Jamshed Thomas.

The 69 members of the Punjab Legislative Assembly who have been suspended as MLAs include Raja Sagir Ahmed, Javed Kausar, Chaudhry Adnan, Waseq Qayyum Abbasi, Umar Tanveer, Malik Taimur Masood, Shujahat Nawaz, Arshad Choudhary, M. The 14 MPs from Sindh who have been suspended are Ali Gohar Khan Mahar, Ali Nawaz Khan Mahar, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Qazi Shams Din, Hari Ram, Makhdoom Mehboob Zaman, Mir Allah Baks Talpur. , Hasnain Mirza, Raja Azhar Khan, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, M. Yunus Soomro, Liaquat Ali Askani, Dr. Seema Zia and Nand Kumar Goklani.

The suspended MPs from the membership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly are Azizullah Khan, Fazal Hakim Khan Yousafzai, Sahibzada Sanaullah, Liaquat Ali Khan, Rangez Ahmed, Malik Shaukat Ali, Tufail Anjum, Zaheer Shah, M. Idris, Arbab Wasim Khan, M. Ishtiaq. Fazal Elahi, Nisar Gul, Zafar Azam, Sher Azam, Hisham Inamullah Khan, Ahmed Kundi, Agaz Ikramulla Gandapur, Iqbal Mian, M. Iqbal Khan and Nasirullah Khan.

The membership of seven provincial legislators of Balochistan has also been suspended. They are Mohammad Khan, Mir Sikandar Ali, Salim Ahmed, Yaar Mohammad Rind, Ahmed Nawaz, Mohammad Arif and Mohammad Akbar.
