Media casteist, stay away from them: Mayawati

He wrote in a tweet, “During the general elections of the UP Assembly, the media acted following the instructions of their masters, and their attitude was casteist and malicious. The media damaged the Ambedkarite BSP movement and the way it worked. What he did is not hidden from anyone. In these circumstances party spokespersons will be given new responsibility.

The recently concluded elections saw the BSP’s worst performance in three decades, with the party winning one seat and a mere 12.8% of the vote share.

In another tweet, he directed party spokesperson Sudheendra Bhadauria, Dharamvir Choudhary, Dr MH Khan, Faizan Khan and Seema Kushwaha not to engage in debates on TV and other programmes. A BSP spokesperson said Mayawati has asked her to stay away from the media till further instructions are issued by her.
