MATE issues 5-day alerts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for the next few days in many parts including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Monsoon will remain active during the next five days with very heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places. Monsoon Trough is active and is south of its normal position. Its western end is very likely to move northwards gradually from tomorrow. – tns

Manipur Toll 60. set to cross

  • The number of landslides in Manipur is set to cross 60, taking the Indian Army’s death toll to 30. also includes
  • Army jawan’s body found in debris of landslide in Manipur’s Noni district
  • Apart from 11 civilians, one army jawan is still missing.
  • So far 50 bodies have been retrieved.
