Farmers protesting against Union agriculture laws will hold a nationwide protest on Tuesday and demand the sacking of Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra ‘Theni’, whose son is an accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in which eight people, including farmers, were killed.

The protest has been called by the United Kisan Morcha (SKM), a group of farmers’ unions spearheading anti-agriculture laws on Delhi’s borders since November 2020, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), which is part of the movement. Is. , said.

“There will be demonstrations at administrative headquarters in every district of the country. A memorandum will be submitted to the government demanding the removal of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra from his post.

“All India protest will be supported by all farmer groups associated with the movement against controversial agricultural laws. Through the memorandum, we will once again appeal that these laws be withdrawn,” Malik said.

He said that local issues faced by farmers at the regional level and district level would also be highlighted during the protests on Tuesday.

In Uttar Pradesh, on October 3, four farmers were allegedly crushed to death by an SUV in Tikonia area of ​​Lakhimpur Kheri district, the ancestral residence of the Union minister.

Later, the mob thrashed four others including BJP workers to death.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case has so far arrested more than a dozen people, including the minister’s son Ashish Mishra. PTI
