Lakhimpur Kheri incident: Complete bandh on October 11 in Maharashtra, says MVA allies

Demonstrating the unity of the ruling parties, Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies on Saturday said the October 11 bandh is to show that Maharashtra is with the farmers of the country and there will be a complete shutdown, which will be successful. in the state.

The bandh call appears to be an attempt to surround the people. BJP and the central government on the killing of eight people in Uttar Pradesh Lakhimpur Kheri.

Senior MVA leaders like Shiv SenaK Sanjay, NCP’s Nawab Malik and Congress’s Sachin Sawant jointly addressed the media on Saturday and said that the three parties would actively participate in the bandh on Monday.

“Shiv Sena will participate in the bandh with all its might. All three parties will actively participate in the bandh. What happened in Lakhimpur Kheri was a conspiracy to kill the Constitution of the country, violate the law and kill the farmers of the country. The MVA has announced the bandh to wake up the people of the state to tell the farmers that we are with them,” Raut told the party office in south Mumbai.

He further said that Shiv Sena need not put forth its stand behind the bandh as people will support the bandh on their own. Malik and Sawant also expressed similar views.

Terming the incident as a ‘genocide’, Malik said the BJP has become a party killing farmers. “Workers of all the three parties across the state will meet people and shopkeepers on Sunday to seek their support for the bandh. The bandh will begin at midnight on Sunday. We appeal to all the workers that essential services like hospitals, ambulances, medical stories, milk supply should not be disrupted during the bandh.

Sawant said the incident was a blot on humanity and a blot on democracy. “It is a blot on humanity. Peasants protesting peacefully were crushed to death. The accused are being saved and this is nothing but a stain on the democracy of the country,” Sawant said.
