Lakhimpur case: Ashish Mishra’s bail plea rejected; 2 more arrested

The Uttar Pradesh SIT probing the Lakhimpur case arrested two more people on Wednesday while CJM Chinta Ram rejected the bail pleas of state minister of state Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra and his accomplice Ashish Pandey. Ankit Das and Latif, who had applied for surrender, were arrested after they appeared before the SIT.

He was produced in the court and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Shekhar Bharti, who was arrested on Tuesday, has been sent to three-day police custody.

Speaking in Barabanki, BKU chief Rakesh Tikait said that till MoS Mishra is not sacked from the Modi cabinet, the farmers’ unions will continue their agitation. On agricultural laws, he said: “One day this government will take them back. For this to happen, if we have to agitate for 10 years, we will do that.” – tns
