Lahore: A Lahore court has ordered that Dua Zahra – the teenager who mysteriously disappeared from Karachi in April but later learned that she had run away from home to marry 21-year-old Zaheer Ahmed – He should be transferred to Karachi.
Judicial Magistrate Rizwan Ahmed issued a written order following which Zahra would be transferred from Lahore to Karachi. The teenager will then be produced before a judicial magistrate in Karachi’s district west, the court said. The written order further directed that Dua Zahra be provided security.
“No one should be allowed to meet Dua before he appears in the court,” the order said.
The development came after the police filed an application to hand over Dua following the order of Judicial Magistrate Karachi. The order also reiterates the direction of the Sindh High Court (SHC) to offer prayers in Karachi.
On 21 July, a two-member SHC bench delivered its verdict on a plea by Zehra’s father Syed Mehdi Ali Kazmi related to the alleged abduction and child marriage of his daughter, following which the Sindh High Court ordered Dua to be shifted back to the port. . Faridabad.
Justice Kalhoro remarked that security arrangements would be made for Dua following the threats in Karachi and she would stay in a shelter home.
