Kevin Stefanski on Deshaun Watson’s debut for Browns vs Texans: ‘I think he will be ready to roll’

Deshaun Watson will return to the team cleveland browns lineup on Sunday after serving an 11-game suspension, and head coach Kevin Stefanski is confident the troubled quarterback will be “ready to roll” against his former team.

“As you know, we had Deshaun for three weeks but not on the field with us and then the last couple of weeks on the field. The next step is obviously getting all the first team rep.” Stefanski said.

Goodell says Browns’ Deshaun Watson has complied with all terms of his suspension before Week 13.

“He’s doing a good job preparing the defense with the scout team reps he’s got. I think he’s done a good job physically with his timing, stays sharp and mentally sharp so I think he’ll be ready for a walk.”

Watson will make his debut against Brown houston texans Sunday followed the signing of a massive five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million contract in March. He last played on January 3, 2020, but despite his significant playing time, Stefanski is adamant that Watson will be ready to go.

“I trust Deshaun based on his preparation. Really, the focus is just on doing his job. We’re still about the team effort and still about offense, defense and special teams. “I definitely get it, but can’t really control it,” Stefanski said of worrying about Watson’s time away from the field.

“For me, for Deshaun and for all of our players, it’s just to keep focused on doing our jobs. Watson was accused of being sexually inappropriate with women during massage therapy sessions while playing in Houston. He was not criminally charged by two grand juries and 23 of the 24 civil lawsuits resulted in a financial settlement.
