Actor and musician Kavin Jonas took to his Instagram to share the news of his diagnosis of skin cancer, suggesting his fans to “get the moles checked.” He filmed a video where he was seen lying down and said “So, today I am getting a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head.” He zoomed in and added, “Yes, that is the actual little skin cancer guy that started to grow, and now I have to get surgery to remove it.”
The clip then resumes post-surgery wherein he is seen lifting the bandage from the wound but with an added emoji. Kevin concluded the video by advising people to get their moles checked. Many of his fans showed concern and wished him a quick recovery. The Skin Cancer Foundation expressed their concern and commented, “So sorry to hear about your BCC, Kevin. Thank you for raising awareness. Early detection is the key.”
The last post Kevin made was on June 6, a photo of him and his daughter dressed like him. He captioned it, “When your daughter dresses up as you for New Jersey day.”
Kevin is said to have undergone surgery after the Jonas brothers had postponed their European tour in April, also during which Nick Jonas publicized his flu. Nick Jonas also addressed this in one of the videos shared on the official Jonas Brothers account saying, “A couple days ago I started feeling kind of rough, lost my voice when I had woken up and ground that night out to be able to play the show in Cancun.”
In their caption, they express regret to their fans for the rescheduling, stating, “We are incredibly sorry for the inconvenience this causes some of you.”
