Influential American rapper and fashion icon Kanye West has been named as a suspect in a battery report taken by the LAPD’s Newton Division on Thursday morning (US Pacific Time), Variety has confirmed. He was not arrested; A representative for West did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
LAPD spokeswoman Redina Puentes, quoted by Variety, said the incident occurred around 3 a.m. on South Santa Fe Avenue and Bay Street in downtown Los Angeles. The location is outside the Soho Warehouse, a members-only club.
Online newspaper TMZ, citing police sources, was the first to report that the incident was being investigated as rape battery, which carries a maximum sentence of 6 months in prison.
TMZ also posted a secretly filmed video of West, which it says was “shot sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning,” in which a clearly agitated West is heard shouting, “What Did you say that or not? Did you all say that or not? … Because that’s what happened… Now.”

Earlier, Fox has been seen pointing towards relationship problems on social media.
