Israelis stage mass protest against judicial reform plan

Tel Aviv: Tens of thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities on Saturday for the 22nd week in a row to protest a controversial plan to reform Israel̵7;s judicial system. The government’s reform proposals would reduce the authority of the Supreme Court and give politicians more power over the selection of judges. In March, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a “pause” to allow talks on the reforms, which are progressing through parliament and dividing the country.
