Initial magnitude 6.5 earthquake hits Taiwan’s northeast coast

The EMSC said the quake occurred at a depth of about 60 kilometers, about 65 kilometers northeast of Huilien city on the northeast coast of Taiwan.

According to a CNN producer, the tremors could be felt as far as Taiwan’s capital Taipei.

There is no report of any casualty or damage so far.
