New Delhi: India’s Gautam Adani, the school drop-out turned billionaire who became Asia’s richest man, is facing possibly the biggest challenge of his career when a US short seller raised doubts over his business practices. Doubted the shares in their companies and their reputation.
Adani, whose home state is Gujarat in western India, built his business empire from scratch after starting out as a commodities trader. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is from the same state and their ties have come under intense scrutiny by Modi’s opponents over the years.
