IAS officers agreed after government intervention
The whole point is that the T20 match between India and New Zealand is to be held in Ranchi on 19 November. But an IAS officer of Bihar cadre had already booked that hotel for his wedding. Both the teams also had to stay in the same hotel. The guests were also going to come to the wedding on the day the match took place. At first he refused to leave the booking, later the government intervened, then he agreed.
Actually, due to Corona, BCCI has to follow strict rules of Bio Bubble (a place where no outsider is allowed to go). This was not possible because of marriage. In view of this, the BCCI threatened that it would shift the match to another place.
After this the government intervened. Then the IAS officer agreed. An international cricket match is being held in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, after two years, which will not be postponed due to marriage.
40 to 45 rooms were booked
For November 19 and 20, the IAS officer had booked 40 to 45 rooms in the Ranchi hotel. At the same time, BCCI was not ready to go to another hotel according to its standard. He said that we do not allow players to come out of the bio bubble. Now there is no problem as the IAS have agreed to shift the wedding program to another place.
BCCI said team and support staff need 75 rooms
Now the India-New Zealand T20 match will be played on November 19 at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium. Hotel management is ready to give rooms to BCCI. Devesh, manager of Hotel Radisson Blu, said that 75 rooms have been demanded from the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium. Their arrangements are almost done, the match will take place here.
