Imran unveils Islamabad protest plan on July 2

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Monday announced that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has issued a six-day ultimatum just after abruptly ending the Azadi March. He condemned the chaos witnessed during the first phase of local government elections in Sindh and expressed deep concern over the failure of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to conduct fair, transparent and credible elections. According to a statement by PTI, the leaders expressed their objection to rising complaints of pre-poll rigging by the coalition government in 20 constituencies in Punjab, where bypolls will be held on July 17.

Describing the enthusiasm among the people regarding the by-elections as a “ray of hope”, he said that the days of the government are numbered.

Along with this, information about the preparations for the Parade Ground protests was given in the meeting. Instructions were issued to the Rawalpindi and Islamabad chapters of the party to expedite their preparations and mass-mobilization campaign to make the event historic.

He also reviewed the preparedness of the government for budget approval and price hike.

Unveiling the protest plan, the PTI president said he would lead the July 2 protest rally, as a strong agitation against the government was inevitable. He said that people from all walks of life, especially youth and women, are politically more mature than ever, which is also evident from his overwhelming backlash against the removal of his government.

He alleged that the ‘local Mir Jafar’ was flouting the constitution, law and democratic values ​​more brutally than the dictators.
