Hunter Shaffer Board The Hunger Games Prequel

Euphoria star Hunter Schaefer joins the cast of Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games prequel film ballad of songbirds and snakes, The film is being adapted from Suzanne Collins’ 2020 book of the same name, by Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer LawrenceAdventures in The Hunger Games.

According to Deadline, Schaefer will appear together Tom Blyth and West Side Story star Rachel Ziegler In the prequel.

The story of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes revolves around Coriolanus Snow, an ambitious boy who eventually becomes the tyrannical leader of the dystopian country of Panem.

Blythe will play the young Snow, while Ziegler plays Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute to the poor District 12 girl.

Schaefer will play Tigris Snow, Coriolanus’ cousin and confidante, who mentors him in everything—from his role as mentor to the core of his moral compass.

The latest draft of the screenplay is by Michael Leslie, based on the work of writers Susan Collins and Michael Arndt.

The project will be produced by Nina Jacobson and her producing partner Brad Simpson along with Francis Lawrence. Susan Collins, Tim Pallen and Jim Miller will serve as executive producers.

Schaefer made his acting debut portraying Jules in the HBO critically acclaimed series Euphoria. She is currently working on director Tilman Singer’s film Koel.
