Amidst the fear of the arrival of the third wave of Corona, where many restrictions are being prepared across the country, Himachal Pradesh, untouched by Omicron, is celebrating. To celebrate Christmas and New Year, crowds have started gathering at major hill stations like Shimla, Manali etc.

The BJP leadership is claiming the participation of one lakh workers in the proposed rally at Paddal Madam in Mandi on December 27.

According to a report by Hospitality Industry Service Provider companies, Himachal is getting the maximum number of tourists for Christmas and New Year celebrations as compared to the entire country. All the tourist places of the state including Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, Kullu, Dharamsala are buzzing with tourists, so there is a celebration of the government in Mandi. In such a situation, if Omicron knocks somewhere, it will be difficult to control the situation.

Neither checking at entry nor preparing for investigation

There is no restriction on the entry of tourists coming from different states in Himachal Pradesh. Tourists and locals are roaming freely in crowded areas without masks. In two weeks, 300 people have been found corona positive in the state. The state government has not made any preparations for the investigation of corona infection. The government has definitely asked the medical colleges, district hospital administration to be alert. Instructions have been given to install small ventilators along with making adequate arrangements for oxygen along with the provision of extra beds in the wards. The government has instructed the police administration that strict action should be taken against those who do not follow the corona rules.

The state health department is on alert due to the fear of Omicron. Health Secretary Amitabh Awasthi has held a meeting with the CMO and senior medical superintendents. He has asked to be alert about the Omron variant and to put extra beds in hospitals. Instructions have been given to make arrangements to keep patients on observation in medical colleges.

Need to act cautiously: CM

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has said that there has been an increase in the concern regarding the new variant Omron in the state. The good news is that Omicron has not yet been confirmed in the state. The Chief Minister says that the government and the administration need to work carefully.

A large number of tourists will come to tourist places for the celebration of Christmas and New Year, so the administration needs to take care. Tourists visiting tourist places are welcome in the state, but in view of the tourists and hoteliers Omicron, follow the Corona rules.
