“The heat event is expected to end Sunday night and slightly cooler temperatures are expected after the cold front has passed on Monday,” Environment Canada said.

The public was reminded to stay hydrated and to check on old family, friends and neighbors.

A heat warning is issued when “very high temperatures or humidity conditions increase the risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.”
