- Punjab Synthetic Drug Case; Hearing on SAD leader Bikram Majithia’s bail today in Punjab and Haryana High Court
The Punjab and Haryana High Court will hear today the bail plea of veteran Akali leader Bikram Majithia in the drug case. Majithia is currently out on interim bail. He has appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Punjab Police on the orders of the High Court. In such a situation, now his lawyers will demand regular bail from the High Court so that Majithia can freely participate in the election campaign.

Bikram Majithia was granted interim bail on January 10. In which the High Court had also imposed certain conditions. These include not going abroad, not contacting anyone related to the case, asking the investigation team to keep their mobile number open for 24 hours and sharing the WhatsApp number. The High Court had asked him to appear before the investigation team after two days. Majithia has appeared there 3 times.
Majithia accused of setting up smugglers and taking donations
Majithia has been facing serious charges in the drugs case. It states that Canadian drug smuggler Satpreet Satta also lives in Majithia’s Amritsar and Chandigarh’s Government Kothi. Even Majithia had given them the car and the gunman. Majithia kept taking donations from drug smugglers for the elections. Apart from this, he kept on intoxicating under pressure. He is also accused of facilitating reconciliation between drug smugglers. However, the Akali Dal is calling it a matter of political revenge.
