It may be mentioned that the Ministry of Health aims to enhance self-monitoring of health institutions by enabling them to assess their level of commitment to health standards through an electronic self-assessment programme; Where the institution receives a corrective period and takes no penalty if it voluntarily discloses that a certain health standard has not been met, with immediate cessation of practice and activity that poses a risk to the patient’s safety, Whereas the institution loses the opportunity for a corrective period, and is fined if it does not disclose such violations which are monitored by compliance teams during the audit of the evaluation model carried out by the institution. The Ministry called upon the health care providers and health practitioners to adhere to the health requirements inherent in health systems and preventive procedures and measures to be followed in the State; In order to preserve the health and safety of the patients, and to avoid paying a legal penalty of up to 300,000 riyals, closing the facility, revoking the institution and the health practitioner’s license, and restricting it for a period of up to two years.
