Germany approves sending heavy Leopard tanks to Ukraine

Berlin: After weeks of hesitation amid growing impatience among Germany’s allies, Chancellor Olaf Scholz was expected to announce on Wednesday that his government would approve the supply of German-made battle tanks to Ukraine.
The long-awaited decision came after US officials said a preliminary agreement was reached for the United States to send M1 Abrams tanks to Kyiv to help push back Russian forces nearly a year after the war began .
