Former AIADMK minister KT Rajendra Bhalaji was released from the Central Jail in Tiruchirappalli on Thursday. The Supreme Court has granted him bail.
Bhalaji, Arrested for alleged job scam Jail department sources said that he was released from the prison in the Cauvery delta region.
On his release, the AIADMK leader was given a warm welcome by his supporters and he left for his native district of Virudhunagar.
On 5 January, he was arrested in Karnataka and brought to Tamil Nadu and the next day he was produced before a court in Virudhunagar district, which sent him to judicial custody.
Thereafter, he was kept in Tiruchirappalli Central Jail. The top court had granted him bail on January 12.
Bhalaji held the Department of Milk and Dairy Development in the previous AIADMK government (2016-21). The case registered by Virudhunagar police in job scam is against Bhalaji and others.
