Chandigarh Police for the first time on Tuesday organized the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) for all upcoming vacancies in 2022 for Sub-Inspectors and Assistant Sub-Inspectors.
SSP (HQ) Manoj Kumar Meena said that while 10 ASI and 9 HC have been promoted to SI and ASI immediately, 112 ASI and 128 HC will be promoted as per the availability of vacancy in the year 2022. DPC was conducted by DIG Omveer Singh Bishnoi along with SSP Meena. The promotion orders were issued by DGP Praveer Ranjan. Police officials said this would ensure that there is no delay in the promotion of these personnel.
Also 162 constables of 2009 batch have been given the local rank of Senior Constable to improve their morale and motivation. Recently, 409 constables in Chandigarh Police were given regular promotion in High Courts. In the year 2022 itself, a total of 596 personnel have been given the next rank.
