Amid the political crisis of Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government in Maharashtra, Amrita Fadnavis, wife of BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, took to Twitter to target Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

In a tweet which she later deleted, Amrita Fadnavis wrote, “Ek ‘tha’ Kapati Raja… (Once upon a time there was an evil king).”

His reference to a “king” and the quotation marks used by him around ‘tha’ are clearly being seen as a reference to Thackeray, the chief minister of Shiv Sena.

The tweet comes at a time when the Maharashtra government is in trouble as its rebel minister Eknath Shinde is in Assam with 40 MLAs, including 35 from Shiv Sena and 5 independents. Shinde had on Monday urged Thackeray to renew the party’s alliance with the BJP.
