In connection with its money laundering probe against the IREO group, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted searches at several premises including the residence of company’s vice-chairman and MD Lalit Goyal and premises of three other companies. the agency said on Tuesday.
The other three companies have been identified as IDM Realty, Madeira Conbuild and Global Estate in an ED statement.
“The Enforcement Directorate has conducted a search operation in the business premises of M/s. IREO Pvt. Ltd.; M / s. IDM Reality Pvt. Ltd.; M / s. Madeira Coinbuild Pvt. Ltd.; M / s. Global Estate and others and residential premises of their directors and associates, namely Lalit Goyal, Jai Bharat Agarwal, Anupam Nagalia, Madhukar Tulsi, Gurugram and CA Anil Kumar Goel in Delhi,” the statement said.
The searches resulted in seizure of property and documents relating to foreign investments, mobile phones, laptops and Indian and foreign currency worth Rs 14 lakh.
last week, ED had arrested Goyal IREO after four days of questioning in connection with a money laundering case registered by the agency based on allegations of defrauding the funds of home buyers and its investors.
ED had also mentioned this in its statement after the arrest. Indian Express check in Pandora Letter, which revealed that Goyal had invested an estimated $77 million in investments, shareholding and real estate, even as home buyers and investors ran from pillar to post for their money.
Goyal was detained at the IGI airport on November 11, preparing to board a plane to go abroad on the basis of a look-out circular opened against him.
