According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early Wednesday.
The PMD said the quake occurred at 1:54 am at a depth of 50.8 km, 44 km south-west of Khist in Afghanistan.
Tremors were felt in Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore and other parts of Punjab and KP. People left their homes for safe places in panic but no loss of life or property has been reported so far.
This is the second earthquake in the provinces in a week. On June 17, magnitude 5.2 earthquake Rocked Rawalpindi, Murri, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Diamer, Faisalabad, Multan, Mansehra, Balakot and Chilas.
