It is unclear how the pair kept in touch, but it is possible that Harry was introduced by George Clooney, who is turning Mohringer’s own memoir, The Tender Bar, into a film next year.

Harry and Meghan are friends with George and Amal Clooney. Clooney rides Meghan on a private jet from the US back to London in 2019 after Archie’s baby shower.

They attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding and had ‘dinner’ with the pair while they were still living in the UK.

Clooney is directing The Tender Bar, a film adaptation of Mohringer’s 2004 memoir. The film stars Ben Affleck and will release next year.

Harry has been working on the book for the past one year and the first draft is due by October. Penguin Random House has bought the rights, page six Report.

Experts tell DailyMail.com that Harry may have been given an advance of ‘at least’ $20 million for his memoir, with millions more up for sale.

It is unclear whether Meghan has plans for her memoir.

Another source said: ‘Harry’s progress alone is in the range of $15 million, and world publications and film and film rights alone could be worth a fortune like never before.’

In a statement on his website Archwell, he said he would donate the proceeds.

Mohringer’s previous books include a biography of Andre Agassi, Open and Nike co-founder Phil Knights Shoe Dog. Page Six was the first to report that he was working with Harry on his book.

His own memoir, The Tender Bar, is being made into a film by George Clooney, who will direct. Clooney’s wife Amal is friends with Meghan and rented a private jet to and from London to the US before Archie was born in 2019.

Mohringer has not commented on the partnership and it is unclear how it came to be.

His agent did not immediately respond to inquiries from DailyMail.com on Monday afternoon.

He lives in Berkeley, California, about 300 miles from Harry and Meghan’s Montecito compound.

Prior to ghostwriting, Mohringer worked as a reporter for The New York Times and the L.A. Times.

He describes his ‘big break’ as an article for the Times in 1997 about 1950s boxer Bob ‘Bombardier’ ​​Satterfield, who he discovered was sleeping on a bench in LA.

The article he wrote – Resurrecting the Champ – later became a film starring Samuel L. Jackson.

Mohringer’s own memoir, The Tender Bar, tells the story of his New York upbringing and how he spent it in a bar.

He was a finalist for the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing for his story on Saterfield and was awarded the prize for his story on G Bend, a river town in Alabama.

The story also appeared in The Los Angeles Times.
