David Foster is catching some warmth for a previous remark about Katharine McPhee. In a not too long ago resurfaced video from the 2023 David Foster and Pals live performance, the couple recounted how they met.
“You might not know that we met 17, virtually 18 years in the past, after I was somewhat chubby and cheerful contestant on American Idol,” McPhee informed the gang of her 2005 run on the singing competitors collection, throughout which she completed because the runner-up to Taylor Hicks.
“Oh yeah,” Foster, 74, chimed in. “You have been fats.”
“I used to be somewhat chubby, OK?” McPhee, 40, answered, along with her husband responding, “True.”
The duo went on to recall their early skilled relationship and friendship as images from that point interval flashed on the display behind them. When one pic from 2006 popped up, McPhee mentioned, “David’s had a couple of too many potato chips himself.”
Foster went on to attend — and play piano at — McPhee’s 2008 wedding ceremony to Nick Cokas, whom she divorced in 2016. Then, McPhee scored an invitation to his 2011 wedding ceremony to Yolanda Hadid, which she was unable to attend.
Of the wedding, which got here to an finish in 2017, McPhee quipped, “I used to be invited to one in all your weddings.”

“He is most likely going to be a lawyer or one thing, not a drummer,” Foster told ET in April. “However we adore it and we’re having enjoyable with it. All people’s baby is particular, so our baby is particular to us and he appears to have this expertise. So we’re simply going to go alongside for the trip with out pushing him too exhausting.”
