Independent Vaccine Advisor to the US Food and Drug Administration expected today To discuss and vote on recommending the authorization of boosters for the Modern Covid-19 Vaccine.
On Friday, advisers are due to discuss and vote whether to recommend authorization of boosters for Johnson & Johnson’s Covid-19 vaccine. Both vaccines are already authorized for use in people 18 years of age and older. Members of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee will also hear a presentation on the booster dose “mix and match” on Friday.
An independent advisory committee typically discusses vaccine authorizations and approvals and makes recommendations to the FDA, and then the agency makes a final decision about whether or not to curate vaccines.
