Colts Khari Willis, 26, retired to ‘pursue God’s holy call for my life’.

Indianapolis Colts safety Khari Willis Going into his fourth season in the NFL it wasn’t until he decided to answer the higher calling.

Announcing his retirement on Wednesday, 26-year-old Willis revealed that he is moving into the ministry.

“I would like to first thank the Indianapolis Colts organization for giving me the opportunity to compete in the National Football League over the past three years. I have built lifelong relationships with the many teammates, coaches and support staff who have influenced me greatly. The lessons I learned at this stage of my life will be valuable to me in my next chapter,” Willis began.

“With much prayer and deliberation, I have chosen to officially retire from the NFL as I strive to dedicate the rest of my life to further progress. gospel of jesus christ, I thank all my family, friends and people who have supported me in this journey so far and I look forward to your continued support in the next phase of my life.

“I am humbled and excited to pursue God’s holy call to my life, which brings me great joy and purpose. Thank you for all your support over the years.”

The Colts picked Willis in the fourth round of 2019 NFL Draft out of the state of Michigan.

He played in 39 NFL games, starting in 33 of them. He had a total of 219 tackles, four interceptions, one touchdown and 3.5 sacks during his NFL career.

Colts head coach Frank Reich wished him the best of luck on his journey.
