The officials came to know that the man was asked to leave the premises but he refused to do so.
Police say that several security guards of the hospital tried to arrest the man. Police said the man bit one of the guards during the arrest.
The 53-year-old Coborg man was arrested and charged with assault.
He was released on an undertaking and is due to appear in Peterborough court on 16 August.
Other weekend attack incidents reported by Peterborough Police:
- On Friday evening, a 25-year-old man from a town in Kavartha Lakes was charged with domestic assault, mischief of less than $5,000 and failure to comply with a release order. Police say the arrest came after the man was charged with assaulting a former accomplice at a residence in the areas of Ashburnham Drive and Marsdale Drive. The woman refused treatment due to minor injuries. The accused was taken into custody and produced in the court on Saturday.
- A 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on charges of assault and threatening to kill or cause bodily harm to a husband and wife following an incident with a woman in the Jackson Creek Park area at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Police say that there was a verbal argument between the two. The authorities came to know about a previous incident which was physical. The accused will be taken into custody and produced in the court on Monday.
- A 21-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested Friday afternoon for threatening and failing to comply with a commitment. He was charged with attempting to break into a residence and threatening a man who is currently on conditions not to communicate with the woman. He called the police, who took the woman into custody. She appeared in court on Saturday.
