CM Bhagwant Mann will leave for Delhi this afternoon.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will be on a two-day visit to Delhi from today. He will attend the Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog in Delhi. This meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this, Bhagwant Mann will raise the issue of non-representation of Punjab in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) committee with the Prime Minister.

Apart from this, the issue of GST compensation amount will also be raised by the CM. The Punjab government was supposed to get 16 thousand crores as compensation this year, but it has stopped since July. Punjab got only 4 thousand crores, which is creating financial crisis.

After becoming CM, Bhagwant Mann met PM Modi and asked for a special package of 1 lakh crore for Punjab. Mann had said that Punjab has a loan of 3 lakh crores, so this package should be given in 2 installments.

The logic of the Punjab government, our farmers remained in the movement but not the representatives
The central government has recently formed the MSP committee. This committee will give suggestions to make the MSP available on crops effective. There is no representative of Punjab government in this. The Punjab government argues that the farmers of Punjab were the largest in the 378-day farmers’ agitation on the Singhu border. Most of the farmers of Punjab also died in this. In lieu of the condition of ending this movement, the MSP committee was formed. The United Kisan Morcha of farmers has also boycotted this committee.

Will raise the issue of MSP on other crops
The issue of crop diversification is also included in the agenda of the meeting of NITI Aayog. CM Mann will demand from the Center that apart from wheat and paddy, MSP should be given on crops like moong, maize, groundnut. The state government has given MSP on moong but the Center will be sought to take this decision forward.
