During the last week, the Central Dammam Municipality made 440 field visits to health and food facilities, to ensure the implementation of the municipal requirements and the regularity of food provided to consumers, during which 15 infringing facilities was closed and 150 kg of perishable and unfit for human consumption was destroyed while legal procedures are being followed in respect of these.
The Mayor of Central Dammam, Eng. Hatem bin Saad al-Ghamdi stressed that these rounds are part of intensified monitoring efforts by business establishments to ensure compliance with health requirements, safety of food and health products for human consumption. To protect human health, to achieve greater compliance, and to activate a compliance initiative for establishments and to expand the awareness and control aspect.
Engineer Hatem indicated that the citizen is a participant in achieving compliance by reporting any observations or violations, which are monitored at facilities through a communication center (940) to be addressed.
