Central and Western Railway resumes 100 per cent operations on Mumbai Division

Central Railway and Western Railway will resume 100 percent suburban service operation for passengers on Mumbai division from October 28.

“Keeping in view the increasing influx of passengers in local trains, it has been decided that, from 28.10.2021, Central and Western Railway will run suburban services up to pre-covid level, i.e. 100% on Mumbai Division of CR and WR. ” said in a joint press release issued.

reason of COVID-19 From March 2020 onwards due to the lockdown, train services were completely stopped. Later from June 2020, Railways started suburban services for essential service categories identified by the State Government and approved by the Ministry of Railways. Passengers who were allowed to travel in suburban trains were later extended in August 2021 and by the government in recent weeks.

Presently, CR&WR is running 1702 and 1304 suburban services on Mumbai division which is 95.70% of its total suburban services.

From October 28, Central and Western Railway will run suburban services on Mumbai Division up to pre-Covid level, i.e. 100% services. 1774 on Central Railway and 1367 on Western Railway.
