CBI charges another commander in naval leak case

The CBI has filed a charge sheet against Naval Commander Jagdish, who was arrested in September in connection with the alleged leak of confidential information related to the purchase and maintenance of naval assets. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.

He said that while two charge sheets have already been filed against six persons, the investigation against Naval Commander Jagdish is still on.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday also filed a charge sheet against Commander Jagdish, officials said.

He said several accused, including retired officers Commodore Randeep Singh and Commander SJ Singh and serving officer Commander Ajit Pandey and executive director of Hyderabad-based Allen Reinforced Plastics Ltd, have already been granted default bail in the case.

Officials said the defense counsel successfully managed to point out that the CBI had admitted that the Official Secrets Act (OSA) probe was on, but failed to mention the same in the chargesheet, which has been filed against the accused. makes the chargesheet incomplete, making them eligible for default bail, the officials said. ,

An accused becomes eligible for default bail if the investigating agency has not filed the charge sheet within the stipulated period of 60 or 90 days depending on the allegations leveled. PTI
