Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander The singer appeared in court this week to face charges of breaking into her house on her wedding day.

Sikandar on Monday pleaded not guilty to one charge of rape, trespass of rape, two charges of rape and one of misdemeanor. At the time of his arrest last week, officers also learned that Alexander was wanted in Napa County on a criminal burglary warrant.

CNN reached out to an attorney for Alexander for comment.

Spears’ attorney Matthew Rosengart told CNN that the Grammy winner was also given a restraining order against Alexander, which would remain in effect for three years. Rosengart said he is working closely with law enforcement “to ensure Alexander is prosecuted vigorously” and expressed his thanks to the Ventura County Sheriff and District Attorney.

“This should be a lesson for anyone who engages in equitable conduct,” Rosengart said.

Alexander is currently in prison and his bail is set at $100,000.

Jason Alexander was briefly married to Britney Spears in 2004.

Alexander reportedly cut a wall at Spears’ mountain mansion in Thousand Oaks, California, and began livestreaming while walking past Spears’ estate just hours before she was scheduled to marry Sam Asghari.

“My name is Jason Alexander. Britney invited me here. Britney Spears invited me here. He’s my first wife, my only wife. I’m her first husband,” she said on the livestream.

According to police, Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the residence in response to a trespass report.

Spears was married to childhood friend Alexander about two days in 2004 before their marriage was annulled.
