Biden’s Covid symptoms ‘almost completely resolved,’ says doctor

WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden’s COVID symptoms have “almost completely resolved” and he is set to make his first public appearance in three days with a virtual meeting on Monday.

“His symptoms have now almost completely recovered,” White House doctor Kevin O’Connor said. Letter Released on Monday. “When questioned, at this point he notes only some residual nasal congestion and minimal hoarseness.”

O’Connor said Biden’s pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature were “absolutely normal” and that his lungs were clear. He will continue to take the antiviral paxclovid and low-dose aspirin as alternatives to his prescription blood thinners.

“The president is responding to therapy as expected,” O’Connor said.

The White House has said that Biden will continue to self-isolate at the White House for at least five days from his diagnosis and will only leave after receiving a negative Covid test.

O’Connor said Biden completed his fourth full day of PaxLovid on Sunday night. The treatment is usually given twice a day for five days.

Biden will make his first public appearance in three days Monday afternoon during a virtual meeting with CEOs and labor leaders to discuss the importance of passing legislation aimed at bolstering the US computer chip sector, the White House said. He will also deliver taped remarks at a meeting of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives.

Biden’s last public appearance, which test positive It was Thursday, Friday afternoon when he made virtual remarks for his economic team. The White House did not release an updated video or photo of the president over the weekend.

White House Covid Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha will give further updates on Biden’s situation at a press briefing on Monday afternoon.

Jha isn’t directly treating Biden – it’s being handled by O’Connor who hasn’t addressed Biden’s position outside of the dailies.
