In a non-interactive adaptation of an interactive story, it’s natural enough to want to flesh out your main character, but this adaptation does that in a very unexpected way. Here, our tarnished is named Aseo, and he’s, well, kind of a useless loser.

The resulting book trades away much of Elden Ring’s gothic darkness, resulting in a parody where this far less epic character undertakes similar epic adventures. Not everyone is going to like this book, but those willing to give a chance to something new and different will appreciate its fresh take on Elden Ring’s story.
