Australia won the first T20 World Cup title with an emphatic win over New Zealand

In an oceanic clash, Australia were chasing a target of 173 set by New Zealand – with a blistering 85 by skipper Kane Williamson – with David Warner and Mitchell Marsh looking comfortable at the crease.

A wicket from Warner gave New Zealand hope, but Marsh’s strength helped Australia reach their target.

With New Zealand’s performance and some fine batting, Australia were able to comfortably win their first title in the short format of cricket.
