America: About 80 thousand green cards not received even after the end of the term, now Biden will take over the command – Bharat Times Hindi News

US President Joe Biden has said that he himself will find a solution to the excessive delay in the process of issuing green cards. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked on Friday how the 80,000 green card numbers linked to employment became useless. On this, he said that Biden himself is considering the process of issuing a green card.

Indians benefit the most

Indians working on H-1B visas in the US get the most benefit of green cards. Green card is called permanent residence card in America. Through this document, immigrants have the opportunity to permanently reside in the US. Most Indian IT professionals go to the US on H-1B work visas.

Indians have suffered the most due to the change in its allocation process. Under these, there is a maximum allocation of seven percent of this visa to any country. Delays in this process have caused millions of people to queue up for visas from the US Department of Citizenship and Immigration Services. Thousands of Indian IT professionals are also being deprived of it. This is becoming a matter of concern among Indian-Americans.

Tech companies also suffer

Indian IT professionals get employment in US tech companies through H-1B visas. Tech companies also employ thousands of employees through them. While 9,100 work visas were not used in 2020, this year the number is 83,000.

In view of this, US lawmaker Marian Miller-Meeks has introduced the Employment Visa Protection Bill, which could allow visas that are unused in one fiscal year to be used in the following year. Most experts agree that the new work visa policy has so far only hurt the US economy.
