This came during a meeting with HE Chelchi Kapweboy, Secretary General of the General Market for East and Southern Africa (COMESA) yesterday, via video link, on Monday.
During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed, particularly on the importance of developing cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Common Market for East and South Africa (COMESA) in the economic, commercial and development sectors. The purpose of this cooperation is to open up African markets for Gulf exports, increase investment rates and exchange views on economic development, in addition to discussing the development of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Gulf Cooperation Council and COMESA in 2010, which focuses on economic cooperation.
