Ahmedabad man wanted to shoot UP police in robbery and murder case

According to the police, Bhavesh Solanki alias Raja, a resident of Amraiwadi in Ahmedabad, was shot in the leg in an alleged encounter with the UP Police in Itora Mod area of ​​Azamgarh district.

According to Ahmedabad DCB officials, Solanki was wanted in the murder of Awadhesh Sahni, the owner of a grocery shop in Amriwadi and the robbery of Rs 16 lakh from a resident of Kagdapeeth area of ​​Ahmedabad in August.

“After the murder and robbery incident, Raja had come to Uttar Pradesh and was planning another incident in Azamgarh, when he was arrested by the UP Police after an encounter in which he sustained a bullet injury in his leg. Presently, the UP Police is questioning him and the Ahmedabad Police has started the process of taking him on transit remand,” said an Ahmedabad DCB official.

According to the police, on the night of August 7, Bhavesh Solanki alias Raja along with two persons Brijesh alias Badal and Mukesh alias Maya arrived outside Rabia Bibini Chali in Amraiwadi and stabbed the victim Awadhesh Sahni with over 20 knives. times, leading to his death on the spot.

“Brigesh and Mukesh are residents of Surat, who were approached by Bhavesh to come to Ahmedabad to kill Sahni, with whom Bhavesh had an old rivalry. After killing Sahni, the trio fled to Vadodara and Surat. On August 9, Bhavesh returned to Ahmedabad with Mukesh and another accused Ranjan Malik and the three robbed Rs 16 lakh at gunpoint from a victim in Kagdapeeth area. We have arrested Brijesh and Mukesh based on our investigation. They told us during interrogation that they had bought a pistol from Yunus Sheikh from Surat. Shaikh was then arrested by our team with illegal pistols and ammunition,” said a police officer.
