AdipurushDirected by Om Raut, released across the cinema halls on Friday and has opened to a great start at the box office. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the film earned Rs 37.25 crore on the first day. Sharing the box office collection of the Hindi version of the film in India, Taran Adarsh tweeted, “A huge opening was on the cards due to the promotions and the advance bookings were indicative of the fact… As expected, Adipurush Has taken a great start on Day 1…Fri Rs 37.25 cr. India Biz. Net BOC. Note: Hindi version. box office.”
Taran Adarsh broke down the film’s business across various theater chains, writing,Adipurush In National Chains*… 1st Day… PVR: 6.75 cr, INOX: 5.60 cr, Cinepolis: 3.10 cr. Total: 15.45 crores.”

The film opened to largely average reviews from critics. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 1.5 out of 5 stars. And he wrote,AdipurushA bloated and vacuous cinematic version of a part of the Ramayana, does absolutely no justice to the epic or its civilization-defining characters.
Adipurush based on Ramayana And it features Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Shesh and Devdutt Nag as Hanuman. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist Lankesh. The film released theatrically in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
