7 earthquake tremors off the coast of Iran; felt in the Arabian Gulf

DUBAI: Three earthquakes struck Iran’s southern Kish island on Wednesday, causing panic in Dubai and other regions of the Arabian Gulf.
The US Geological Survey said two earthquakes of magnitude 4.7 occurred, followed by 5.3 off the island near the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Iran reported no immediate damage from the quake.
According to state news agency WAM, the United Arab Emirates’ National Meteorological Center confirmed that the quake was felt across the emirate.
