a New Zealand The politician took herself to the hospital by bicycle, while she gave birth to her baby just an hour after the delivery.

New Zealand MP Julie Anne Genter, 41, left on her bicycle on Sunday morning to go to a hospital in Wellington.

Already in labor, she gave birth to the baby an hour later at 3:4 am.

The 41-year-old politician said: 'I wasn't really planning on cycling into labour, but it eventually happened.'

The Green Party politician posted on his Facebook page: ‘Big news!

‘Today at 3.04 am we welcomed the newest member of our family.

‘I wasn’t really planning on cycling into labor, but it was finally happening.

‘When we left to go to the hospital at 2am my contractions weren’t as bad though they were 2-3 minutes apart and increasing in intensity by the time we arrived 10 minutes later.

‘Amazingly we now have a healthy, happy baby sleeping, as is his father.’

The dual New Zealand-US citizen was born in Minnesota and moved to New Zealand in 2006.

Ms. Genter, Her party’s spokesperson for transportation issues and whose Facebook profile includes ‘I love my bicycle’ also biked to the hospital to give birth to her first child in 2018.

“Beautiful Sunday morning for the bike ride, to the hospital, to finally give birth to this baby,” Genter posted on Instagram at the time.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern famously took maternity leave while in office and even brought her three-month-old baby girl to a UN meeting while she was breastfeeding.
