Two people were killed and at least four others, including a police officer, were injured in a shooting at a mall in Boise, Idaho, on Monday afternoon.
Boise Police Chief Ryan Lee said officers responded at the Boise Town Square Mall at 1:50 p.m. local time and encountered a man who matched the suspect; The gunfight ensued, an officer was one of the six people initially injured and the suspect was later taken into custody.
Lee said two of those initially injured had died.
“At this time, the majority of the mall has been cleared. We are still actively sanitizing the mall to look for any additional concerns and any additional victims, but at this time we believe that There was only one shooter involved and that the incident poses no threat to the community at large,” Lee said at a news conference on Monday afternoon.
