Atlanta, Ga. (Atlanta News First) ̵1; Thomaston police are investigating after two Ford Mustang cars were allegedly stolen from a Southern Ford of Thomaston dealership.
A Ford Mustang GT500 Heritage and a blue Ford Mustang GT500 were both taken Friday night.
“This is a really special car, we are one of the lucky dealers to have it,” said general manager Chip Richardson. “The Legacy was a numbered car; Less than a thousand of them were built and everything on it was certified.
According to Thomaston police, the thieves broke into the showroom and took not only the cars but also the keys to most of the cars in the lot.
Chief Mike Richardson said, “I don’t think this was someone coming for a joyride, they knew what they were looking for.” “And I don’t think these are going to be cut anywhere, they’re going somewhere.”
According to the police, the thieves disabled the security camera.
For those running the dealership, this is incredibly frustrating.
“We’re a small country town and usually nothing happens,” said Chip Richardson.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Thomaston police.
There is a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
